Test Case Management Systems

Would you like to hear from others about how they accomplished moving over from paper test plans, or plain text or formatted text (Word or Excel) to electronic test plans using a test case management system? How did they transfer the tests to an electronic format? How long does it take, does it require temps to type in all of the tests into a TCM system or is there an EASY BUTTON to transfer all of the data. What types of tests are most easily transferred? Are there things that need to be done to the test plans, pre-conversion to prepare for the conversion? Does the conversion ultimately save any time and money or is the benefit mainly in reporting, logging, scheduling, knowing your progress during testing, maintenance, and reusability? We’d like you to share your successes as well as failures of this type of implementation. We will be holding an open roundtable discussion on this topic and would invite anyone having previous experience in this area as well as those that may be considering moving to an electronic test case management system.
