  • Topic: Becoming an Effective Team Leader
  • This presentation examines the ten most challenging issues seen in test automation and provides ways to deal with each challenge. Many organizations have attempted to apply automated test tools and most people see the value in using automated test tools, yet research shows that most organizations perform more manual testing than they do automated testing. However, some organizations have been very successful in acquiring and applying automated test tools. What are the keys to success that these organizations have discovered? This presentation describes the lessons learned by successful organizations and how to apply those lessons in other organizations to add value to their testing efforts.

  • Many organizations attempt to implement test automation, but end up with shelfware instead of testware. This can represent a substantial loss in costs associated with tool evaluation, licenses, and training. Additionally, this can adversely impact team productivity & morale, which creates a lost opportunity to improve the effectiveness of the testing process.

  • Topic: Software Testing Processes, From Concept to Reality
  • Click here for presentation. Burt Greenberg and Colleen Maloney of Process Management Group, called upon people to start testing tasks as early as gleam in the user's eye. They reviewed several definitions and concepts about multiple Processes like "Black Box vs. White Box" testing, SEI CMM, Functional Builds and others. Then they conducted a "hands on" workshop that was hailed by all.
