WISQA Yahoo Discussion Group Presentation

  1. General purpose of the Yahoo Discussion group
    1. What it IS:

                                                               i.      A forum to discuss Quality Assurance issues

ii.      A networking tool to get to know your peers

iii.      A place to exchange knowledge and information

iv.      A means to obtain opinions on testing tools or techniques

                                                             v.      A place to communicate to others about any related employment opportunities or to make it known that you are looking for employment in a related field

vi.      Yahoo Groups has the ability to be used for file and picture sharing but we currently have disabled those features.

vii.      Yahoo Groups has the ability to host chat room discussions but we currently have disabled that feature.

viii.      Yahoo Groups has a polling feature that the group owner or moderators may use periodically to obtain information about a particular subject.

ix.      Yahoo Groups has a links area where useful or interesting links may be placed to other web sites.  If you have a link that you would like to have included to this list, email that link to: WISQA_Group_Discussion-owner@yahoogroups.com

    1. What it is NOT:

                                                               i.      It is not a place for sales people to promote their products.  (This does not mean that if someone in the group poses a question about a testing tool cannot take part in the discussion. They simply need to know that they mustn’t cross the line between an open discussion and a full blown sales pitch.

ii.      It is not a place to trash or defame anyone else’s integrity or point of view.

iii.      It is not a place to post spam to the group
